The Seniors at Sterling Hills
Message from the President:
The Seniors@Sterling Hills (SASH) Golf Club was chartered by the Southern California Golf Association (SCGA) as an affiliate club in 2001. SASH has as its home course Sterling Hills and is open to all interested golfers.
In 2012, the recognized golf course club invited SASH to partner and in 2015 when the recognized club was dissolved, SASH became the club of record. Now any golfer wishing to join may do so.
Annual membership dues are kept at a minimum. With SCGA membership, members receive a Golf Handicap Index Number (GHIN) to post scores and develop a handicap for tournament play and to measure progress, a bi-monthly SCGA electronic magazine and discounts at various retailers and courses. In addition, SASH members are sent a bi-monthly e-newsletter providing key tournament and personal information.
Mondays are the normal day of play but occasionally, if the course has a scheduled outside tournament or a Monday holiday, that week’s play is moved to Tuesday. The first tee time is 9:00 and members sign up with the golf staff via phone call or in person by Friday of the previous week. Individual stroke play is held every week with the exception of a special format event on the last Monday of each month.
Play is normally from the White tees but the second Monday of each month, play is from the Combo tees to provide some variety. The club also conducts special away events, usually in the Spring and Autumn. SASH participates in an annual Ventura County Senior Cup competition with seven other senior clubs in the county. In addition, the club conducts a match play tournament every Winter and holds SCGA Qualifier competitions in May Four Ball and in August the Club Championship. Winners of both events get to represent the club in follow on Championship tournaments.
SASH is very informal and fun loving group of retired and semi-retired seniors from all walks of life, who enjoy golf and the camaraderie it provides. Come on out and try us sometime!
If you have questions or comments, please feel free to call. Thank you!
