The Sterling Hills Women’s Golf Assoc. (SHWGA) plays on Wednesdays starting at 8:14 AM. We are a diversified group of women of all ages, abilities, and origins. Our membership has been growing steadily and we welcome new members to come out and play with us on any Wednesday.
As of August 2008 we have 41 members with handicaps between 5 and 40. One of the highlights of our year was our 3rd Invitational Tournament on May 7, 2008 at which we hosted our sister golfers from all over Southern California. We had a great day and raised awareness and money for Villa Esperanza Services, a local charity that assists developmentally disabled individuals throughout the Ventura and Los Angeles Counties.
Our group also enjoys close ties to Women’s Public Links Golf Association (WPLGA), participates in Team Play, Association Tournaments, and other special events sponsored by this great organization. Other events within our club are President’s Cup, Eclectic, and special holiday-themed mini-tournaments which add variety and a friendly spirit of competition to our regular weekly playdays.
The Board of Directors and our Members wish to thank the Sterling Hills management and staff, especially Mr. Tom Park, Head Pro Betty Chen, and Restaurant Manager Alex Zuniga for their outstanding support to our members.
